Improving workplace health and wellbeing for NHS staff

Improving staff health and wellbeing produces benefits such as reduced staff turnover, reduced accidents and injuries, increased productivity and reduced absenteeism. For NHS organisations, it is also associated with improved patient satisfaction ratings, decreased MRSA rates and better annual health check ratings.

To support NHS employers improve their staff’s health and wellbeing, Working for Wellness has contributed to a report, Health Promotion in the NHS Workplace: A Framework for Action in London, and produced a series of six posters which can be used in the workplace to promote physical activity as a means of improving mental wellbeing, complementing the report’s recommendations.
