IAPT London Regional Recruitment Closed

The IAPT London regional recruitment process closed on the 28th May.

There was an overwhelming response to the process.

Shortlisting is currently being undertaken and should be completed in the next week or two.

Some London PCTs are recruiting locally for IAPT trainees so if you missed out on the regional process please keep an eye on NHS jobs over the coming weeks for further positions.

Hi to those asking about further information on future recruitment.

We are currently in negotiations to decide what future recruitment will look like but hope that there will be a similar process next year as this year. You need to keep your eye on both this website and NHS jobs for further information. We would hope to begin the process in Spring.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Rob,
I am a psychology graduate and am looking into a career as a psychological wellbeing practitioner.I understand that the IAPT accredited courses are offered on a part time basis ,with the rest being supervised work experience. I don’t currently have any experience in working with people with mental health issues.I do however have first hand experience of a relative who suffers with depression Can you advise me as to the best way forward .do I try to find a trainee PWP position first or a place on the course ? I am trying to volunteer with people with mental health issues in the mean time.

  19. rob says:

    Hi there

In London (and as far as I know everywhere else) you are employed full time whilst training. There is curretnly no provision to just do the course as a significant amount of the training as actually delivered by the services themselves. You would therefore need to apply for a position as a trainee PWP and these should be advertised in early summer of next year.

In the meantime volunteering to get further experience would be beneficial.

You can see copies of the JD and person spec on the national IAPT website http://www.iapt.nhs.uk

    Hope this helps

    Rob
