Work pressures during the recession have caused a big rise in mental health problems, the charity says.

A survey for Mind suggests that one in 11 British workers has been to the GP for stress and anxiety from the financial squeeze.

Health@Work says Liverpool workers are suffering mental health illnesses

A LIVERPOOL charity is warning that mental health illness among employees is on the rise after the sustained recession.

Health@Work has highlighted a new report revealing that 47% of workers are experiencing depressive symptoms during the recession which is five times higher than levels recorded before the slump.

War veterans mental health warning

The country faces a “potential mental health timebomb” when veterans return to civilian life, shadow Defence Secretary Liam Fox has warned.

Representatives from the three main parties took part in a defence debate before an invited audience at the National Army Museum in London on Tuesday evening.

Mr Fox said the fact more veterans of the Falklands War committed suicide than died in the conflict showed the potential impact of war on serving soldiers.

Our Stories exhibition demystifies mental illness

Mental health call centre set for April

After months of planning, the new Contact Centre at West London Mental Health NHS Trust will open for business on 1 April 2010.

Until now, calls to the Trust have been answered by Ealing Hospital’s switchboard team.
